A graphene-based neutral particle detector

2019

A neutral particle detector is presented, in which the traditionally used target material, indium tin oxide (ITO), is replaced by graphene. The graphene-based detector enables collinear photodetachment measurements at a significantly shorter wavelength of light down to 230 nm compared to ITO-based detectors, which are limited at 335 nm. Moreover, the background signal from the photoelectric effect is drastically reduced when using graphene. The graphene based detector, reaching 1.7 eV further into the UV energy range, allows increased possibilities for photodetachment studies of negatively charged atoms, molecules, and clusters.A neutral particle detector is presented, in which the traditio…

Electrochemistry of TiO2–iron hexacyanocobaltate composite electrodes

2014

Abstract In this paper we investigate the electrochemical behavior of iron hexacyanocobaltate (FeHCC) in comparison to the cobalt hexacyanoferrate (CoHCF). The best results were achieved on electrochemical synthesized film of FeHCC on the TiO2 modified electrodes. The chemical and physical characterizations confirm the formation of the FeHCC with the classical cubic crystal structure of the Prussian blue analogs, with cell parameter a very close to 10 A, as well as the formation of micro aggregates of TiO2 covered by FeHCC. The synthesis was performed on various substrates such as glassy carbon (GC), graphite foil (GF) and indium tin oxide (ITO) in order to develop new technological applica…

Two-Step Solution-Processed Two-Component Bilayer Phthalocyaninato Copper-Based Heterojunctions with Interesting Ambipolar Organic Transiting and Eth…

2016

International audience; The two-component phthalocyaninato copper-based heterojunctions fabricated from n-type CuPc(COOC8H17)(8) and p-type CuPc(OC8H17)(8) by a facile two-step solution-processing quasi-Langmuir-Shafer method with both n/p- and p/n-bilayer structures are revealed to exhibit typical ambipolar air-stable organic thin-film transistor (OTFT) performance. The p/n-bilayer devices constructed by depositing CuPc(COOC8H17)(8) film on CuPc(OC8H17)(8) sub-layer show superior OTFT performance with hole and electron mobility of 0.11 and 0.02 cm(2) V-1 s(-1), respectively, over the ones with n/p-bilayer heterojunction structure with the hole and electron mobility of 0.03 and 0.016 cm(2) …

Deposition of indium tin oxide films by laser ablation: Processing and characterization

1998

Abstract In this work an indium tin oxide thin film fabrication technique based on pulsed laser deposition is described and the electrical, optical and mechanical properties of the deposited films are reported. Deposition of high quality films on cold substrates was proved. The third harmonic (355 nm) of an Nd:YAG laser was employed to photoablade the indium tin oxide target.

Hybrid electrochemical/electrochromic Cu(II) ion sensor prototype based on PANI/ITO-electrode

2017

Abstract Conducting polymer polyaniline (PANI) based electrochromic films were electrochemically synthesized on indium tin oxide (ITO) covered glass electrodes and their electrochromic performances were investigated by spectroscopic methods before and after the incubation in Cu(II) ion containing aqueous solution. Chemical structure of synthesized PANI layer was evaluated by FTIR. The electrochromic performance of PANI film was determined by measuring of spectroscopic signals before and after the incubation of PANI film coated electrode in Cu(II) ion containing solution. During the change of potential, which was applied to PANI-modified electrode, the colour of PANI thin film turned from gr…

Electrochemical behaviour of Nafion®+cupromeronic phthalocyanine films

1999

Abstract The surface of indium tin oxide (ITO) and graphite+polymer composite electrodes can be modified by Nafion ® films containing a little amount of dispersed electroactive substances, such as phthalocyanines. This procedure allows electroanalytical information on the electroactive deposited substance to be obtained. The preparative methods of these type of modified electrodes are discussed from voltammetric results in this work. The proposed equivalent circuit explains the voltammetric differences between these electrodes. The Nafion ® net acts as a permeable membrane to the hydrogen ions. Besides, the presence of methylviologen within the Nafion ® film makes the electron transport thr…

Ascorbic Acid determination using linear sweep voltammetry on flexible electrode modified with gold nanoparticles and reduced graphene oxide

2020

Indium tin oxide (ITO) coated on flexible polyethylene terephthalate (PET) substrate electrode was modified with reduced graphene oxide and gold nanoparticles by simple co-electrodeposition performed at -0.8 V vs SCE for 200 s. All samples were characterized by electron scan microscopy. The as prepared electrode was used as electrochemical sensor to selective detection of ascorbic acid using linear sweep voltammetry. Excellent results were obtained in a linear range from 20 to 150 µM of ascorbic acid with a limit of detection of about 3.1 µM (S/N=3.3). The sensors have a reproducibility of about 5.5% and also show high selectivity towards different interferents such as chlorine, calcium, ma…

Improvement of photocatalytic and photoelectrochemical activity of ZnO/TiO2 core/shell system through additional calcination: Insight into the mechan…

2017

Abstract ZnO/TiO2 composites were prepared by sol-gel deposition of TiO2 on ZnO nanorods hydrothermally grown on electrically conductive indium tin oxide substrate (ITO). It has been shown that the ZnO/TiO2 interface plays a key role in enhancement of photodecomposition of methylene blue (MB) used as a model test pollutant, under monochromatic light irradiation (400 nm). The increase of photocatalytic activity was attributed to the shift of absorption edge of ZnO/TiO2 towards visible light in comparison with bare TiO2. Further enhancement of photocatalytic activity of ZnO/TiO2 was achieved through its additional calcination at 450 °C for 3 h. This treatment brings 40% increase in the rate o…

Structural and spectral properties of ZnO nanorods by wet chemical method for hybrid solar cells applications

2015

Abstract The synthesis of ZnO nanorods on transparent conducting oxides, Al doped ZnO seed layer on glass substrate (AZO) and indium tin oxide substrate (ITO) by using zinc nitrate hexahydrate (Zn (NO3)2·6H2O) and hexamethylenetetramine (HMT, (CH2)6N4 as raw materials is presented. The ZnO seed layer was fabricated by depositing an Al-doped ZnO thin film on glass substrate by sputtering. The effect of seeding on (AZO) and (ITO) substrate by using the wet chemical route growth of ZnO nanorods was investigated. The synthesized nanostructures of ZnO were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV–vis absorption spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and high-resolution transmission…

Role of Nanoelectromechanical Switching in the Operation of Nanostructured Bi2Se3 Interlayers between Conductive Electrodes

2016

We demonstrate a simple low-cost method of preparation of layered devices for opto- and thermoelectric applications. The devices consist of a functional Bi2Se3 layer of randomly oriented nanoplates and flexible nanobelts enclosed between two flat indium tin oxide (ITO) electrodes. The number of functional interconnections between the ITO electrodes and correspondingly the efficiency of the device can be increased by gradual nanoelectromechanical (NEM) switching of flexible individual Bi2Se3 nanobelts in the circuit. NEM switching is achieved through applying an external voltage to the device. For the first time, we investigate in situ NEM switching and breakdown parameters of Bi2Se3 nanobel…
